MBTA Time-Based Map

Improving Efficiency of the MBTA's Green Line Through Eliminating Stations

Adobe Illustrator
June 2016

I researched the efficiency of the green line through documenting the travel times between each station. Comparing these travel times to how long it would take to actually walk between stations, I found that eliminating some of the stops would increase the efficiency of this subway line significantly. I created a time-based map to demonstrate this.

This was my first detailed project in Adobe Illustrator in my freshman year of college. Because I was not experienced in the software at the time, it was frustratingly slow and took many, many iterations to design this, specifically the background, and get the spacing everything correct. It’s one of the projects I’m still most proud of.
